Why did you choose SMO? |
| I wanted to study Gaelic and I looked in to different options at other colleges and universities such as Glasgow and Aberdeen but for me the combination of language, literature and history on the course really appealed to me. |

What is it like living on Skye? |
| I am originally from Tiree so was quite used to island life but the Isle of Skye is very different. Skye is much bigger and is much more accessible to the mainland, although it can still feel remote, especially when you need to get to the co-op! But the college has a real community spirit that you might not find at other universities such as Glasgow or Edinburgh, where everyone knows each other and where it is really easy to make friends, no matter your age or what course you are studying. |

What are your hobbies? |
| Like most students, going to the pub is probably one of my favourite pastimes but equally I enjoy sitting in with friends getting a blether and the craic. I have worked in the local Toravaig Hotel for the last two years which is great. I have also started to help out in Fàs Mòr, the Gaelic childcare facility at the College, and although it can be hard work I really look forward to being there and thoroughly enjoy it. |

What does the future hold? |
| My plans have changed quite a lot since I first came to Sabhal Mòr but at the moment I am hoping to undertake a teaching qualification once I have finished my degree. |

Best thing about SMO? |
| For me the best thing about SMO is the people at the College, the friendly atmosphere and the good friends you make. I don’t think there are many other places or Colleges where everyone gets together to socialise and head out. |
