Why did you choose Sabhal Mòr Ostaig?
We both wanted to do a course in Gaelic and Traditional Music and no other college offers a course that covers both subjects.
What is it like living on Skye?
We both enjoyed living here, but it’s very different from our own home towns. We are glad we came to Skye and not to the big city as Skye is a lovely place to stay.
What are your hobbies?
During our time here, Lisa was working at the Ardvasar Hotel for a year and I would go down and see her often. Also we have been playing at many music sessions and this has been good for learning and teaching new tunes.
What does the future hold?
We hope to get work in Inverness for a year. After that Lisa wants to do a Gaelic teaching course so she can teach Gaelic in the primary schools and Roya wants to teach people how to play the Accordion and also be out playing at gigs with her band.
Best thing about SMO?
There was only two of us on this year so our classes were small. We enjoyed this as we feel we got great support from our tutors compared to how it would be in a much bigger class. Its great that Sabhal Mòr is a small college as we got to know everybody here and we have made many great friends during our time at the college.
