Limited places – Booking essential
An optional extra for conference delegates is a day visit to Raasay on Saturday 18 June to take part in a full programme of activities hosted by Urras Dualchas Ratharsair in association with the Scottish Centre for Island Studies, University of the West of Scotland and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. It includes viewing of a specially compiled ‘MacLean Exhibition’, a buffet lunch, island music and poetry readings, a lunchtime lecture by Professor Murray Pittock, a guided minibus tour by Rebecca Mackay, Urras Dualchas Ratharsair and a ‘Slàinte Shomhairle ‘Toasting the Bard’ before returning to Skye and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. Booking
Places are limited and delegates are advised to book early. To facilitate local participation and for the convenience of those who may be travelling on from Skye to the mainland later on the Saturday there are two options:
Return minibus transport from Sabhal Mòr Ostaig to Raasay (incl. ferry fare) with buffet lunch and full programme on Raasay as above):- £25.00
Own transport to/from Sconser and own return ferry fare (£5.65) with buffet lunch and full programme on Raasay as above):- £10.00
