The learning facilities, IT infrastructure and library collections at the College are excellent. They further enhance the teaching you will get from academic staff recognised at national and international level for the quality of their research in Celtic studies subjects.
Located at Àrainn Chaluim Chille, the College library provides a relaxed and welcoming environment for students to work in. It houses two outstanding collections of antiquarian books, the MacCarmaig Collection and the Celtica Collection. The Special Collections are complemented by the library’s extensive lending stock and digital resources, and as a partner of UHI, students can also access resources for other UHI partner libraries. Students may also use the reference library at the Clan Donald Centre, which holds useful material for local history and genealogical research.
New technologies play an increasingly important role in the delivery and support of the curriculum. Video-conferencing facilities and virtual electronic learning support services are used to aid the delivery of courses. The ratio of computers to students is very favourable and wi-fi is available free in all residential student accommodation. There are also printers, scanners and photocopiers on hand for students.
The Fàs building is home to a new, purpose-built TV studio with up-to-date broadcast facilities and the College has recently opened a dedicated performance and recording studio for students on the BA Gaelic & Traditional Music.
As a student you will have a studies advisor who will give you guidance on your academic progress and you will be encouraged to provide feedback on learning & teaching through your class representative.
