Welcome to SMO Short Courses 2012

Skye is a picturesque and vibrant island and Scotland’s Gaelic college, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is a busy and lively place all year round with its courses and events.  The Short Courses offered by the College are special though, attracting people of all ages and nationalities every year.  They are a fantastic way to meet new people, learn the Gaelic language and enjoy a good music session or two on a Gaelic campus which is at the heart of a warm and friendly community with beautiful surroundings.

The College’s short courses began teaching Gaelic and traditional music in 1973 and have since expanded greatly with over 700 people visiting the college over the year  in order to take part in a short course.  This year, we welcome old acquaintances and new students for their first time to the college.  Apart from the courses, among the evening activities we have for you will be cèilidhs, music sessions, films, workshops in singing and dancing and a chance to meet and speak with local Gaelic speakers who may impart some of their stories and knowledge of the area!

We look forward to seeing you at the College where you will find a warm Highland welcome waiting for you at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
Kind regards,

The Short Courses Team
