You will have daily morning language classes at the college beginning with a Gaelic Pronunciation workshop on the Monday morning, covering the following language points:
Verb ‘to be’ (descriptive form) in present, past and future tenses.
Present participle of common verbs, Days of the week, Numbers, Some common, prepositions, Having + possession, Building a sentence, Polite phrases, Some proverbs, Placenames, Local history and stories from the areas to be visited.
Afternoons will be taken up with educational tours of the local museum and sights of special historical/cultural interest where students will have the opportunity to use the language structures learned in the class. During the week students will be referred to a range of courses, websites, groups and support materials which may encourage you to extend your knowledge of Gaelic after you return home.
Note that this course will run during the Alasdair Fraser Fiddle and Cello week so you will have the opportunity to hear some wonderful traditional music and can join the festive atmosphere of the week that celebrates Alasdair’s 25th Fiddle and Cello camp at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
