Margaret Stewart - Along the Road Less Travelled
Margaret specialises in bringing less-known songs to the attention of audiences worldwide. This is apparent on this CD on which she recorded 17 of those songs, sung with her pure and unique voice. The CD comes with the lyrics to the songs in Scottish Gaelic, Irish and English, as well as information regarding the origin of the songs. "Togaidh mi mo Sheòlta" is therefore ideal for anyone who has an interest in the Gaelic language and culture, as well as the singing. Margaret, who is from Lewis, is one of the best-known Gaelic singers and has won several prizes, amongst them the Gold Medal at the Royal National Mod in 1993 and the title "Gaelic Singer of the Year" in 2008. In 2011 she was named as the new musician in residence at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, giving her a special connection with the college.
