Gillebrìde MacMillan - On Leave
This is Gillebrìde MacMillan's second CD and like his first it shows a strong bias towards Uist songs, which he performs in a simple and natural but all the same very skillful style. The CD was nominated for "CD of the Year" and Gillebrìde himself for "Gaelic Singer of the Year" at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards in 2011. Gillebrìde stems from a family in which the Gaelic traditon is very strong and has won all the major prizes at the National Mod, both as a child and an adult. He is also part of the group "Na Seòid" and has been involved in various tv and radio programmes.
