Faclair na Gàidhlig
Salary: £27,830 - £32,236
Faclair na Gàidhlig is an inter-university initiative by the universities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Strathclyde and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig UHI to produce an historical dictionary of Scottish Gaelic comparable to those already available for Scots and English.
Applications are invited for the post of Trainee Lexicographer to join the team and play a key role in establishing an historical lexicographical tradition in Scottish Gaelic.
You will have a good honours degree in Scottish Gaelic, or demonstrable equivalent. You will be a team player with the ability to work on your own and you will have an analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
Base: Negotiable. Occasional visits to the project’s management base at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye will be necessary.

Tobar an Dualchais seeks to recruit a new director, to steer this important project through its next stage of development.
Tobar an Dualchais is a national project, which has earned a world-wide reputation through its website of stories, songs and other recordings connected to the heritage of Scotland. It includes recordings from three major collections - the School of Scottish Studies at Edinburgh University, BBC Alba and the National Trust for Scotland.
A new version of the website is planned for the next stage, requiring a new development plan.
This is a great opportunity for a person with a background in Gaelic and/or Scots cultural heritage and with excellent management, development and communication skills and experience to come to Skye and be based at the project’s main office at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
