Please note: You are booking on to the Piano Accordion Course with Addie Harper.

In July 2016 we welcome back three of the finest box players in Scotland (if not the world!). On this course you will spend five days in the company of legendary players Fergie MacDonald, Addie Harper Junior and West Coast talent Robert Nairn. The only course of its kind, we welcome players of different experiences and all abilities. All we ask is that you should be able to play a couple of tunes on either the button box or piano accordion.

Players will spend the week under the direction of Addie Harper Junior, who uses his vast musical experience to help you learn a wide range of tunes, techniques, harmonies and chords to enhance your playing. Addie is a popular musician and tutor, hailing from a famous musical family; Addie's father, Addie Harper senior, is one of the main figures of the dance band world in Scotland since the 1950s.

Addie creates a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere with his calm instruction and patience; he is in strong demand throughout Scotland and beyond, and is a regular in the SMO Summer Short Courses programme.

For the fifth year running we are also delighted to welcome back Robert Nairn and Fergie MacDonald as the week's button box tutors. Both men hail from Moidart in the West Highlands of Scotland and are acclaimed dance band leaders.

As part of the course, students at all stages are encouraged to perform a few sets with Addie, Robert & Fergie at the Thursday night short course cèilidh.
