From beginner to broadcaster with SMO’s radio courses

If you would like to learn how to create and produce a radio programme, then the radio courses which Sabhal Mòr Ostaig are running will be ideal for you. On the courses you will learn how to record a radio programme, you will be given the chance to take your own idea for a programme from first thoughts to final production, and your programme may be chosen for broadcast on community or local radio.

Under the guidance of industry experts and experienced broadcasters, the four radio courses will be held throughout the year, with the first weekend course being held on 16-17 February. Two further weekend courses will be held later in the Spring (9-10 March and 20-21 April). There is also the opportunity to do a final week-long course in conjunction with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the 5-9 August where you will be given the chance to hone and perfect your newly-learned skills.

The weekend courses will be held at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and the course in August will take place in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.

Course fees are £20 (£10 for students) for the weekend courses and accommodation and meals are available at the College at an additional cost.
