About Iain:

Born and bred in the historical West Highland village of Glenfinnan, Iain MacFarlane has been immersed in traditional music and song all his days. Best known for his performances in Blazin’ Fiddles and Glenfinnan Ceilidh Band Iain has also played with the likes of Boys of the Lough and Phil Cunningham as well as stints with local “greats” such as Fearchar Macrae and Fergie Macdonald. Teaching has been a strong feature of Iain's work over the years and is currently principle fiddle tutor at The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music at Plockton. Iain also runs 'Old Laundry Productions’, a recording studio/music production company which has been successful in producing award winning CDs such as Julie Fowlis ‘Dual”, Duncan Chisholm’s ‘Farrar’ and Kathleen MacInnes’s ‘Cillebride’. Iain recently released his debut solo album ‘Gallop to Callop’ in 2016.

“Iain has a rightly earned reputation for bringing absolute joy to his live appearances.”
