Sabhal Mòr Ostaig attracts students from all over the world and our course programmes are structured to allow the best opportunity for students to gain fluency in the language and a greater confidence in reading, writing and speaking Gaelic.

If you are a complete beginner of Gaelic you may wish to apply for one of our Short Courses or enrol on our distance learning access course, An Cùrsa Inntrigidh.

Prospective students who are fluent in the language may wish to apply for one of our degree courses or the increasingly popular postgraduate MSc Material Culture and Gàidhealtachd History.

Perhaps you have a good grasp of the language but haven'€™t spoken it for a while and wish to return to your roots or be able to speak Gaelic to your children.  You may wish to apply for the distance learning course, An Cùrsa Adhartais or enrol on the College'€™s immersion course, An Cùrsa Comais.

We welcome applications from anyone with a passion for, and interest in, Gaelic, and we deal with each application in a proper, confidential and trustworthy manner.  All applications to the College will be considered on an equal basis in line with the College'€™s Equal Opportunities Policy.  The College will not discriminate on the grounds of age, race, colour, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

Our Registry & Admissions Office will be happy to advise on a course of study to suit you and provide you with information on how to apply.  You will also find further useful information within this section of the website.
