Legal Framework

Information on how the college was established and its standing from a legal perspective

Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is an independent charitable trust and an academic partner of UHI Millennium Institute.

UHI is a company limited by guarantee. UHI has concluded a number of agreements with its academic partners for the supply of teaching, research, and associated services for higher education. UHI is constituted as a Higher Education Institution under Scottish Statutory Instrument No 39 (April 2001).

 

 


Governance Structure

The college's governance structures and operational procedures

Compliance with government legislation and with the requirements for the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and other statutory bodies is the duty of the Board of Trustees. The Board exercises its duty through its Clerk and through the Senior Management Team.
