Campus Community
Community is incredibly important to Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. As we are a smaller college based in a rural area you will have the chance to get to know people very quickly and to take part in College and community activities
The College hosts an artist in residency programme through which students can receive teaching, support and advice from some of Scotland's foremost artists. The College currently boasts Margaret Stewart as Musician in Residence, Peter Mackay as Writer in Residence, Arthur Donald as Drama Artist in Residence and Aileen Stackhouse as Visual Artist in Residence.
As a student of the College you will be encouraged to contribute to what is happening in the community through the Sleat Community Trust or by getting involved in one of the many community projects such as the Clean Sleat Project.
The new Fàs building at the College is also home to a number of organisations and projects which add greatly to College life and allow students to become involved in the wider Gaelic community. These include the Lèirsinn Research Centre, Cànan, MG Alba, Ainmean Aite na h-Alba, Tobar an Dualchais, Faclair na Gàidhlig, Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Sealladh/Young Films.
The College also hosts Fàs Mòr, the local Gaelic childcare facility, who welcome support from parents and also offer opportunities for part-time employment.
