Message from Rudiger Bub with details of the KEAV course in Skaer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: Bub_Ruediger/germany_support@qad.com Date: Thu, 20 Apr 95 16:42:19 +0200 Subject: KEAV course Sender: rub@qad.com [...] I was at Skaer last year. Then we had classes at six levels, and the minimum level usually corresponds to 1.5 to 2 years of Breton studies. The dates for 1995 are now as follows: July 14th to 20th and July 20th to 26th, as there had been administrative problems with the schoolgrounds they usually use. Not only French is banned, but the participants promise not to use any language but Breton during the course. This should be taken VERY seriously. Most of the people really want to make progress in Breton. Usually they are about 80 to 100 people and most of them Bretons. A handful of foreigners turns up as well, mostly Welshmen, Germans and Austrians. Skaer is nice, but you don't see too much of it, as people mostly tend to stay in the Breton-speaking enclave on the schoolgrounds. It is amazing how fast you can advance by this course. When I went there last year I had a very good knowledge of the grammar, but couldn't speak. After one week only I spoke Breton quite fluently and hadn't any problems even with dealing with special topics in Breton. [...] To get more information, the address of organizing association is: KEAV (Kamp Etrekeltiek Ar Vrezhonegerien = Interceltic camp of Breton-speakers) 22 Hent Mouliouen BZH-29000 Kemper Phone numbers: +33 99-53-58-34 (Roazhon = Rennes) or +33 98-95-59-31 (Kemper = Quimper) [Anna Ar Beg] Kenavo, Rudiger.
