Fàilte

Tha e na thoileachas dhomhsa fàilte a chur oirbh chun na cuairt-litir seo. Mar as àbhaist tha tòrr air tachairt bhon tè mu dheireadh agus tha mi an dòchas gu faigh sibh blas de na tha a' dol againn anns na duilleagan a leanas.

Tha sinn a' dèanamh adhartas math le grunnan phròiseactean agus ag obair gu trang airson Sabhal Mòr a thoirt ceum eile air an t-slighe gus sàr ionad, a bhios aig cridhe leasachaidhean ann an cànan agus dualchas nan Gaidheal, a chruthachadh. Gheibh sibh anns a' chuairt-litir seo fiosrachadh mu dhèidhinn Ionad Chaluim Chille Ile, Tobar an Dualchais, Iomairt Chaluim Chille, pròiseact Oilthigh na Gaidhealtachd, an Cùrsa Inntrigidh agus iomadach rud eile. Gheibh sibh fiosrachadh cuideachd air ball de Chaidre amh Sabhail, Susan Peat as Astràlia, agus leis an smuain gur ann nas doirbhe a tha e an t-ionad mìorbhaileach seo a chumail a' dol mar as motha a tha sinn a' fàs, chì sibh cho chudromach is a tha e dhuinn gu bheil buill a' Chaidreih againn airson taic a chur ri ar cuid n-oidhirpean.

Mòran taing airson bhur taic 's cuideachaidh. Taing shònraichte ri dhol gu BT Alba a phàigh cosgaisean an ro-sheallaidh againn am bliadhna.

Welcome

Norman N. Gillies

It is my pleasure to welcome you to this the latest edition of our newsletter.

As usual much has happened in the interim and I hope that you will get at least a flavour of what is currently happening at the college from this one. We continue to make good progress on a number of projects and towards our mission of being a centre of excellence for the development and enhancement of the Gaelic language, culture and heritage. In this newsletter you will find information on the Islay Columba Centre, the Kist O' Riches, the Sabhal Mor Ball, the Columba Initiative, our new Gaelic Access Course and much more besides. You will also find an article about Susan Peat, from Australia, who is an active Friend of the College (Caidreamh an t-Sabhail). As the college continues to grow rapidly it becomes more difficult to access the requisite funding and we are all well aware of the increasing importance we place on friends who support us in the securing of our aims.

Thank you for all your help and support. A special thanks to BT Scotland who kindly funded our prospectus this year.
