Computer
"Ríomh" is a good root from which to
derive terms related to computation, whether by machine or otherwise. "Ríomhaire"
(FR 198) for "computer" tends to suggest a human
agent, and "ríomharán" might be preferable for a machine. However, for everyday use the best term is "an t-inneall", in the same
way as we casually say "the machine" in English; or
"ríomh-inneall" whenever the context is not established. "An tInneall
Seo" seems a natural equivalent for the Windows icon "My
Computer".
