Board of Directors & Committees
Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is a company limited by guarantee and a charity. The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and governance of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. At an operational level, the Board delegates many of its functions to the Senior Management Team and committees.
The Board meets every quarter. Between meetings, the Committees meet. There are co-opted members on the Committees in addition to Board members and officers. The work of the Board Committees is more detailed. Students are represented at Board by the President of the Students’ Association (Comann nan Oileanach).

The Sabhal Mòr Ostaig Academic Senate was established in 2023 which oversees the strategic academic developments of the College. Staff and students are represented on the Senate.

AUDIT COMMITTEE
The Audit Committee ensures that the College’s systems and processes are effective and sound. This Committee has an independent Chairperson who is not a member of the Board.
The Chair of the Board is not permitted to sit on the committee. The Principal of the College is invited to attend once a year.
The auditors (both external and internal) attend the meetings.
