DESCRIPTION
Are you a pupil support assistant or an early years practitioner in Gaelic medium education and interested in completing a professional qualification? Do you work with young people? As part of the SVQ3 Social Services (Children and Young People) course, you will develop a portfolio of evidence related to knowledge, skills and abilities related to your work.
The course will be delivered through distance learning, and you will be supported through online sessions each Wednesday with a tutor and other participants. Ongoing communication will be carried out through email, as well as a tutor visit to your place of work.
Core Modules
The work will be completed within 12–18 months and within eight units of work. Four of the units are core units: Communication, Child Protection, Health and Safety, and Developing Abilities.
Optional Modules
In addition to the four core units, you will choose an additional four units from a selection of units, and your choice will be based on your own setting.
UCAS - ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You must already be working as a pupil support assistant in Gaelic medium education to gain entry to the course. You also must have permission from your school to participate in the course.
Fees and Funding
The SVQ3 Social Services (Children and Young People) course is fully-funded by the Scottish Government; there will be no requirement for students or schools to pay fees.
