As well as learning some gorgeous new tunes, the classes will take a microscopic look at harmony, rhythm and composing. These will be supported by a range of technical tips on how to improve your overall sound. Expect to emerge feeling more confident and happy with your fiddle playing journey, and a head buzzing with new tunes and excitement.
This course is suitable for intermediate to advanced fiddle players, who are able to play a range of tunes at a good pace with some varying bowing and ornamentation techniques. A reasonable knowledge of the various Scottish tune types and comfortable playing in the common keys or above. All tunes will be taught by ear, but sheet music will be provided at the end of the course. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own fiddle, a recording device and an open mind.
