Dr Marsaili MacLeod appointed as Vice-Principal and Director of Studies
Dr Marsaili MacLeod has been appointed as Vice-Principal and Director of Studies at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
Dr MacLeod currently lectures in Gaelic Studies at the University of Aberdeen. She has a PhD also from Aberdeen looking at “The meaning of the Gaelic Labour Market in the Highland and Islands of Scotland”. She is a well known and active researcher (previously involved in the SOILLSE project) and her work experience has also included rural development and management.
“Marsaili has excellent skills in teaching, research, management and administration and we are sure she will achieve great things in this role”, commented Angus MacLeod, Chair of the Board. “The Board is very pleased to have appointed someone as able as Marsaili to follow in the footsteps of John Norman MacLeod, who has served the College for over 36 years. She will be a great asset to the team.”
Marsaili will move to the island and begin in her new post in the Autumn.
