NURSERY MANAGER – FÀS MÒR
Salary:£30,168 – £34,985 dependent on qualifications and experience
Hours: Full-time
Fàs Mòr is a Gaelic medium childcare facility situated at Bun Sgoil Shlèite in Sleat, Isle of Skye. We provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 0-12 years and play an important role within our local community.
We are seeking a Nursery Manager to lead our small and friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in childcare and leadership who is passionate about supporting children’s wellbeing and development within a Gaelic medium environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, compliance and operational management, while fostering positive relationships with children, families, staff and partner organisations.
Applicants should hold an SVQ3 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7, HNC Childhood Practice, or equivalent recognised qualification, and either hold or be willing to work towards an appropriate management qualification in line with SSSC requirements.

COLLEGE WARDEN
Looking for a role where no two days are the same?
Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is seeking a committed, practical and approachable College Warden to join our team on the beautiful Isle of Skye.
This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in campus life, helping to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for students, visitors, and staff. As the first point of contact outside normal operating hours, you will provide reassurance, respond to emergencies, support student wellbeing and help ensure the smooth running of our residential campus.

About the Role
As College Warden, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, security and wellbeing of our campus community outside normal working hours.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to student welfare issues and providing support and guidance as required.
- Acting as the first point of contact for emergencies and incidents occurring out of hours.
- Securing College buildings and facilities.
- Supporting the delivery of a safe and positive residential environment.
- Assisting with a range of operational duties, including basic maintenance support, room set-up and campus logistics.
- Ensuring College policies and health and safety procedures are followed.
The role is based on a rota, with the anticipated working pattern being either five days on and three days off, or five days on and four days off.
In addition to the Warden responsibilities, there may be opportunities for the successful candidate to undertake daytime work with the Estates and Maintenance Team, providing additional variety and involvement in the day-to-day operation of the campus.

CHEF
Salary: £27,220–£28,983 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7
Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is looking for a Chef to join our hospitality team on our stunning Skye campus. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for students, staff, visitors and guests, while maintaining excellent standards of food preparation, hygiene and service.
We are seeking someone with experience in a busy kitchen environment, a good understanding of food safety and allergen management, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A professional cookery qualification or equivalent experience is essential.

Key responsibilities
- Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Keeping kitchen, food preparation areas and storage areas clean and tidy
- Assisting with basic food preparation
- Supporting chefs and catering staff during busy service periods
- Following all food hygiene, health and safety procedures

Come and join our team of housekeeping assistants at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. We currently have vacancies for either a full-time or part-time Housekeeping Assistant. Responsibilities include cleaning and servicing student/guest bedrooms, offices, classrooms, function rooms and public areas and setting up meeting rooms for events taking place at the College.
No previous experience is required as full training will be given. There may be accommodation available. You will also have the opportunity to learn or improve your Gaelic.
