OUR CAMPUS

Founded in 1973 in the old farm steadings at Ostaig, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig’s mission is to contribute to the revitalisation of the Gaelic language and culture.

Ionad Iain Nobail is the first building in the new Kilbeg development and was officially opened in 2015 by the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon MSP. Built as a centre for Academic, Research, Knowledge Transfer and Enterprise, IIN is named in memory of the late Sir Iain Noble, who was instrumental in the establishment and early development of the College.

Kilbeg is the first new ‘planned village’ on Skye in almost 100 years and builds upon the significant socio-economic impact Sabhal Mòr Ostaig has had in the region since its founding by Sir Iain Noble in 1973.

Future phases of the wider master plan provide for a range of housing, retail and enterprise units, a small hotel and sports and recreation facilities for Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and the wider community.
