As is often the case in the Highlands, there are gaps in the history available in books – much of which was written far away and in another language. However, we may find history and memory beneath our very feet, and all around us, within indigenous culture and the landscape itself. This seminar will explore a process of research and interpretation that reveals new historical narratives and accounts, drawing upon indigenous culture and oral tradition, and it may well offer us fresh perspectives on the ancient history of the Highlands.
