Profile

Mary Ellen was brought up in Grimsay, North Uist. After graduating from Glasgow University, she spent many years working in education as a teacher, researcher and as a consultant to the BBC’s Education Department. Mary Ellen is now a lawyer, and was appointed to the Faculty of Advocates in 2021. She is also a part-time tutor in contract law at the University of Edinburgh.
