Scholarship Opportunity: MRes in Gaelic and Celtic Studies
Sabhal Mòr Ostaig UHI’s MRes in Gaelic and Celtic provides students with a professional grounding in the fields of Gaelic and Celtic Studies, offering them the opportunity to pursue their scholarly interests and to develop their skills in formal academic writing, analysis and communication through the medium of Gaelic.
Students on the MRes work closely with their academic supervisors on a year-long research project they design together; supervision is available in the areas of Socio-linguistics, Historical Phonology, Dialectal Studies, Onomastics, Gaelic Literature (medieval to modern), History of the Highlands and Islands (early modern to modern) Material Culture, Musicology, and Rural Economy. We are delighted to announce scholarship funding for the academic year 2022/23, covering full fees (UK, Home) for a full-time MRes student based at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, working through the medium of Gaelic. October 2022 or January 2023 starts may both be possible.
