Sabhal Mòr Ostaig Employee Wins Prestigious Piping Prize

Congratulations to Dr Decker Forrest who won the Dunvegan Medal for Piping at the Skye Highland Games in Portree on 8th August. He played the tune The Earl of Ross’s March and the prize qualifies him for entry to the Silver Chanter MacCrimmon Memorial Competition at Dunvegan Castle next year, where he will be up against five or six of the world’s best pipers.

Decker is course leader of the college’s BA (Hons) Gaelic and Traditional Music course.
