Profile

Jennie Duncan teaches on our distance learners’ course, An Cùrsa Inntrigidh, and our on-campus immersion course, An Cùrsa Comais.

Jennie received a BSc (Hons) Biochemistry from the University of St Andrews, before coming to Sabhal Mòr Ostaig to study on An Cùrsa Comais – which she now teaches on. She continued her studies on our Gaelic and Traditional Music course, specialising in Gaelic song under the tutelage of renowned singer, Christine Primrose.

She began working at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig full-time in 2022 and has worked in many parts of the College since then: organising community classes and events; designing and teaching bespoke courses for visiting groups; teaching on An Cùrsa Drochaid and our Short Courses; and working in Student Services and Student Engagement.

Jennie can still be heard singing and performing, and she has a special interest in the use of songs, and their stories, in language learning, as a medium for picking up and consolidating grammar points, pronunciation and vocabulary.
