How to Apply – Short Courses

You may only attend one course during each specific week.

Each course delegate must have their own personal account in their own name. It is not possible to book different people on courses using the same account as the system interprets this as a duplication and will reject the application.

To book a course (with or without accommodation), follow the links for the course you would like to attend. Once on the course page, click “Book Now”, which will present the login page.

NEW STUDENTS

If this is the first time you have attended a Short Course with us, please follow the links to the course you would like to attend and click on the “Book Now” link. You will be taken to the login page where you may select “Create Account” and follow the prompts to complete the application form.

RETURNING STUDENTS

If you have previously attended a Short Course, please log on with your existing details and complete the on-screen form. If you cannot remember your password, please follow the links on the login page to reset it or contact the helpdesk for assistance (contact details at the foot of this page).

SAVE / SUBMIT

You may save the partially completed form and return to it later by using the link below:

https://www.studentjourney.uhi.ac.uk/urd/sits.urd/run/siw_lgn

At the bottom of the webpage, click on “View applications” and edit the saved application. Please note that applications which are only saved will not be attended – we will not receive your application until you have clicked “Submit”.

CONFIRMATION

After your application has been submitted you will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. If you do not receive the email, please check your junk mail or spam folder to ensure that it has not been moved there by your anti-spam software, and add us to your “safe senders” list as required. If you still have not received the email, please log on using the link above and ensure that you have submitted the application rather than saved it, and check that you have entered a valid email address for correspondence.

Once we have received your application, we will endeavour to return to you within three working days with either an offer of a place along with details of how you may make a payment or to advise that the course is full. If you have not heard from us after this time, please check your junk mail or spam folder again. If there is no correspondence there, please contact our office.

TRAVELLING COMPANIONS / GROUP BOOKINGS

If you are travelling with a companion who is sharing your room but not attending a course, you may include your companion’s details in the accommodation section of your own application without the need for them to make their own booking. However, if your companion also intends to do a course, they must log in with their own account and make their own separate application, though both of you may indicate in the accommodation section of the application that you would like to share a room.

If you are travelling as part of a group who all intend to complete a course, each member of the group must have their own login account and make a separate course application. Whilst the login IDs must be unique to each individual, in the address section you may all use the same email address for correspondence if this is more appropriate, e.g. for family groups.
