Ceòl Mòr Ostaig

Glasgow is to get a taste of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on Saturday 26 May at a special musical event being held in collaboration with Ceòl’s Craic, the Glasgow-based Gaelic arts initiative.
A host of talent connected to the college will appear at Ceòl Mòr Ostaig in the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Glasgow where the college’s rich musical heritage will be to the fore.

Among those appearing on stage at the concert, which includes staff and students past and present, will be the renowned Gaelic singers Christine Primrose and Margaret Stewart from Lewis, the Angus Nicolson Trio, and the college’s Writer in residence Peter MacKay. The concert begins at 8pm and the actor Arthur Donald will act as host for the night. Tickets cost £8 (£6 concession) and can be bought from the CCA box office or online at http://ccaglasgow.ticketsolve.com

In addition to the evening’s entertainment, a series of free taster sessions and workshops will be held between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. They include a Gaelic taster class, and workshops in Gaelic song, drama, and television camera skills. There will also be information about the college and the work of Sabhal Mòr’s television students will be screened in the cinema.
