After a lifetime in the Construction Industry., Alex retired and moved to Sleat where he now lives on his wife’s family croft, in their self-designed and built home.  He keeps bees, makes and sells hand thrown stoneware pottery and works as a tour guide in the local distillery a couple of days a week, as well as singing with Strath Gaelic Choir. Alex learnt Gaelic through night classes, followed by the Cùrsa Inntrigidh and the Cùrsa Comais at Sabhal Mòr.
