Sabhal Mòr Ostaig’s procedures, legislations and policies are reviewed regularly and revised as appropriate.

Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is committed to the advancement of the Scottish Government guidance on Fair Work First. Fair work is work that offers all individuals an effective voice, opportunity, security, fulfilment and respect. It balances the rights and responsibilities of employers and workers and generates benefits for individuals, organisations and society.

We aim to provide a positive work environment where all employees are supported to make a positive contribution. This is evidenced through:

  • Payment of at least the real Living Wage;
  • Providing appropriate channels for effective workers’ voice;
  • Investment in workforce development;
  • No inappropriate use of zero hours contracts;
  • Continuing to monitor any gender pay gap issues and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace;
  • Offering flexible and family friendly working practices for all workers from day one of employment; and
  • Opposing the use of fire and rehire practices.
