SAAS will now fund 5 years of study for those interested in Gaelic Immersion
We are delighted to announce that SAAS will waive previous study rules on CertHE Gaelic Immersion courses at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
Students who have received funding for a degree or HN level qualification already will now still be eligible to receive funding for our Gaelic Immersion Years.
If you opt to study on one of our CertHE Gaelic Immersion courses prior to another programme of study (e.g. an HNC or degree), this will not affect your ability to claim SAAS fees for further study. This is a new rule change by SAAS specifically relating to Gaelic Immersion.
This applies to our CertHE courses – An Cùrsa Comais and Gaelic and Communication – our immersion years for both fluent speakers and learners. These courses can act as the first year of a degree course or as a standalone one-year immersion course to help develop your language skills.
