NEW FULLY FUNDED GAELIC SUMMER SCHOOL FOR LEARNERS
Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is today launching a new fully funded 7-week Gaelic Summer School for 12 Gaelic learners, beginning 08 July 2024.
Students on the Gaelic Summer School will enjoy up to 30 hours of class time each week, as well as free accommodation and full board on Sabhal Mòr Ostaig’s beautiful campus in the Isle of Skye.

The Gaelic Summer School is for complete or near Gaelic beginners and acts as a stepping stone to the popular immersion course CertHE An Cùrsa Comais starting in September 2024, as well as further qualifications in teaching, music, broadcasting, language and culture.
Director of Education Dr Marsaili MacLeod said: “The Gaelic Summer School is a fantastic, fully funded opportunity for anyone who is interested in Gaelic, but, for whatever reason, didn’t get the chance to learn it in school or at home.
“Students will spend the summer in Skye totally immersed in all aspects of the language as part of a lively programme of events at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
“Those 7 weeks based on our Gaelic campus will be the best preparation possible for CertHE An Cùrsa Comais, our Gaelic immersion year, and our degree pathways starting in September 2024.

“This will be your first step to a career in Gaelic.”
The Gaelic Summer School 2024 is funded by the Scottish Government.
