Here’s a course for honing your skills in poetry and Gaelic out on the hill in Sleat, the region of Skye where you’ll find Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. We’ll be aiming to write verses in Gaelic, individually and as a group, when we’re out walking on the hill. At least one of the days, we hope to go out on a boat (weather permitting), and the course of it all you’ll hear about local history and folklore, songs and poetry, place names and Gaelic (all in Gaelic, of course). If the weather isn’t suitable, we’ll hold our discussions and write poetry at the college itself – and at the end of the days, we’ll put all of our work together and can continue in the pub or the hall in the evenings. An open-mic night will also be held towards the end of the week.

Tutor is the Gaelic poet and lecturer Rody Gorman.
